WinRAR extended pricing

If you have previously purchased volume licences of WinRAR then you are entitled to receive that same discount for any subsequent purchases. If the purchase quantity exceeds your previous largest purchase then the highest purchase quantity prevails for discount purposes. Not however that the previous quantities are non-additive. It is just a rule to ensure that you are never disadvantaged when adding small quantities of licences to your existing licence base.

The rule is "The price for the extended licences is based on the highest purchase quantity made by the same customer and is calculated at the current prices. The minumim order amount is the price of a single user licence"

"Same customer" means same "AV-Code"

This is best illustrated by a few examples.

1. In 2004 you bought 500 licences at the then price of $5.20 per licence, so you got the 500-999 quantity discount. Now you want another 40 licences, so you qualify for another 500-999 quantity discount, your unit price is $6.85 (the prevailing price) not $14.80 which is the current 25-49 price, in this case you make a saving of mopre than 50%
2. Later you need another 480 licences, so you get a discount which is based on your largest purchase, so again you get the 500-999 unit price of $6.85 not the 200-299 price of $8.00. But note that you don't get the 1000+ pricing, becasue the purchases are non-additive for discount purcoses.
3. Now you want to add 1000 licences, so you get a discount based on the 1000+ price. The earlier discounting no longer applies, because the 1000+ pricing is cheaper.
4. Now if you add 80 licences the price for the 80 is at the 1000+ pricing.


5. But, say you only want another 3 licences, then the minimum order rule kicks in and the price is set to the 2-9 user price of $23.95 each - this is because the order value for 3 licances at your 1000+ price is below the minimum order value.

The extended pricing rules are to ensure that you are always able to buy "at best" and you are not disadvantaged by buying small quantities after a volume purchase

Automatic application of extended discount pricing is not possible when purchasing via the web-shop, the volume discount applicable to that purchase will be used for the web-order. But you can still purchase that way, just make a note on your order and we will refund the discount manually.
